More Pictures of Golden Nobunaga in Gifu

Here is two more photos of the Golden Nobunaga statue in front of Gifu Station. The bottom photo explains Nobunaga's relationship with Gifu. The more I look at the statue, I begin to enjoy it more. Nobunaga looks ready to to stake his claim on the Tenka for himself.

I do like how he is standing and holding his helmet. It is an impressive figure. Is he holding an arquebuse in his right hand?

Yep! I think this will be the best Nobunaga statue so far. This a full glory statue. If you do head back to Japan in the near future, Gifu will be a must stop.

There will be another Nobunaga statue put into place next year at the Arimatsu Okehazama location. I have seen photos of it. The Gifu statue blows it away by light years.

There is a chance I will be heading to Japan in the next couple of weeks but only for a week and only in Tochigi. I really hope to get to Gifu someday to see this.

Are you going back to Japan to see the family? If you do go back, katen no Shiro should still be playing. I wish I had the chance to see it.

Gifu is a must for any serious Nobunaga scholar. the museum there is awesome and they have a Nobunaga library as well. At the moment there is still digging around the Gifu Castle area. However, I would like to see Saito Dosan get his due credit.

I am glad I studied in Gifu. Everybody went to Tokyo or Osaka. Screw that! everybody thought I was crazy to study in a redneck city. I knew ahead of time that Nobunaga built Gifu. Gifu and Aichi is the place to go to study the Sengoku Era in my opinion. There is so much to see.

Yes, I will be going to Otawara in Tochigi. However, I don't believe there is a movie theater in Otawara. We would have to go to Utsunomiya.

Gigu definitely sounds like the place to go. It is on my list.
